VALEDICTORY FUNCTION OF CENTENARY CELEBRATION OF GIRL GUIDING IN INDIA
The valedictory function of the Centenary of Girl Guiding in India was celebrated at Anandpur Sahib, Punjab from 30.11.2011to5.12.2011. 1000 participants from 21 States of India gathered at Anandpur Sahib. The Campers were accommodated in room at the camp venue and the activities were organised at the Sports complex of Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Anandapur Sahib The colorful Grand opening ceremony was organised on 1.12.2011.Gyani Trilochan Singh, Jathedar,Takth Kesargarh Sahib was the Chief Guest on the Occasion.
All the states presented colorful cultural
programmes. At the end of the programme 3 big Candeels (Burj) with Centenary
Logo hanging were blown off in the sky by lighting fire at the bottom. A Route march was organised on 2nd
December 2011,which was flagged off by Shri R.K.Sharma,Director,BSG,NHQ.1000participants walked through the streets of
Anandpur Sahib with their respective state Costumes, depicting their state
culture. The Route March ended at the recently inaugurated famous Khalsa - E-
Virast . The Exhibition on 3rd
December, 2011was inaugurated by Captain Balbir Singh Bath, Hon’ble Minister
for NRI,& Social Welfare, Government of Punjab. All the 21 states
displayed their items and the stalls draw large crowd.11 States participated
in Skill –O-Rama, The Rangoli and Colour party competitions were thoroughly
enjoyed by the on lookers. Food Plaza was yet another attraction in the event
15 states served mouth-watering dishes of their states to guests and
participants. Folk Dance competition
was organized. On 4th morning Musical instrument Display was organised. The Grand Finale of the 100 years Celebrations was organised in the Arena. Dr (Mrs) Manik Barsaley, Chief Commissioner (Guides) BS&G, NHQ presided over the function. The message of The President of Bharat Scouts and Guides Shri Rameshwar Thakur was read on the occasion.
The Scouts and Guides
renewed Promise which was administered by Dr ( Mrs).M. Barsaley, Chief
Commissioner (Guides). Cultural programme ended with a colorful fire work. DISTRICT LEVEL OFFICERS COURSE –NORTH EASTERN REGION. The Regional level District
Level Officers course for North Eastern Region was held at State Headquarters,
Shillong, Meghalaya from 6th to 10th December 2011. 30
district level officers representing Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and
Tripura State Associations of Bharat Scouts and Guides participated in the
course. Shri F.R.Kharkongor, IAS, Secretary
Education, Government of Meghalaya and State Chief Commissioner, Meghalaya
State Bharat Scouts and Guides visited the camp on 9th December
2011.. The camp came to a close after all faith prayer meeting on 10th
December 2011. 32ND COURSE FOR LEADER TRAINERS (GUIDE
WING) The 32nd Leader Trainers Course for Guide wing was held at National Training Centre, Pachmarhi from 12th to 18th December 2011, 15 participants from Assam, Eastern Railway, Maharastra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu and Uttrakhand participated in the event.
The sessions covered Learning objectives, How to write objectives, Six area of training, Personal support, Self Training, Planning and drawing up sequential order of work related to training, Youth Programme. Leadership competencies, motivation, skill and function of trainers, conduct of course programme, learning opportunities, Principles of management, assessment, transfer of training etc. Practical demonstrations of Games, Court of Honour, Team Council etc were organised during the course.
All Faiths Prayer was
conducted on the closing day. |
NATIONAL LEVEL STANDARD JUDGING CAMP National level standard judging
camp was organized from28th November to 2nd December 2011 at State
Training Centre, Jedimetla, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.101 Scouts/Guides,14
escorts and 8 staff members from 10 state participated. During the camp Camp
Craft, First Aid, Patrol Pioneering, Mapping, Campfire, Backwoodsman cooking,
Flag ceremony, Fire rescue, B.P. Six Exercise /Yoga and Colour Party
competitions were organised and standard certificates were issued to the
states achieving ‘A’ and ‘B’ grades. NATIONAL LEVEL SPECIALTREKKING PROGRAME
National level Special trekking
programme for Guides and Rangers was held at St. Paul Senior Secondary
School, Haldwani, Kathgodam, District Nainital, Uttrakhand from 14th
to 18th November 2011. 75 Guides and Rangers along with their
leaders from Gujrat, Haryana, KVS, Madhya Pradesh, Northern Railway, Punjab,
Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand states participated. DESERT TREKKING PROGRAMME
National level desert trekking
programme was organized at Sam Desert, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan from 1st
to 5th December 2011. 102 participants from Chhattisgarh, Delhi,
Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir,
Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, N.E. Railway, Rajasthan,
Southern Railway, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal attended. During the Camp the
participants trekked in the sam desert and studied the life of people, flora
and fauna of desert and the cultural
values of desert life. The
camp came to an end on 5th December 2011. SPECIAL ADVENTURE PROGRAMME
A Special Adventure Programme
for Guides and Rangers was organised at National Adventure Institute,
Pachmarhi from 5th to 9th December 2011 on the occasion
of Centenary Celebrations of Girl Guiding in India. 67 participants from
Delhi, Rajasthan, Western Railway, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh an Uttar Pradesh
attended. The Programme was inaugurated on 5th December,2011.
During the programme participants visited historical place of Pachmarhi like
Pandav cave, Jata Shankar, Lot Shrung and Dhoop Garh. Participants actively participated in
crossing of obstacles, archery, rifle and pistol Shooting, Rock Climbing,
Rappelling and valley crossing. Essay an Drawing competitions on Promoting
Gender Equality an Empowerment of Women,100 years of Girl Guiding in India
were organised. The participants were awarded rank certificates. RE-ORIENTATION COURSE FOR TRAINERS (SCOUT WING)
& (GUIDE WING) The 106th
Re-orientation course for Trainers of Scout wing and 100th Re-orientation course for Trainers
of Guide wing were conducted at
State Training Centre, Ganganagar, West Bengal from 29th
November to 3rd
December,2011.There were 22
participants in scout wing from West Bengal, Eastern Railway ,S.E. Railway,
Jharkhand and KVS states. In Guide wing there were 8 participants from West
Bengal, Eastern Railway and Jharkhand.
Shri Shyamal Kumar Biswas, Chief Commissioner (Scouts) Bharat Scouts
and Guides, inaugurated the course. MAPPING CUM STAR GAZING COURSE Mapping Cum Star Gazing Course was held at National
Training Centre, Pachmarhi from 14 to 18 December, 2011. 34 trainees from 11
states participated in the course. This course was organized to provide
specialized skills to the unit leaders for qualitative improvement of young
people. Experts from HEGRO, a branch of Tata institute of Fundamental
Research were invited to impart training of Stars, constellations etc with
latest equipments . YOGA INSTRUCTORS TRAINING COURSE Yoga instructors Training Course was held at
National Training Centre, Pachmarhi
from 14 to 18 December 2011. 57 participants from 13 States of Bharat Scouts
and Guide attended. Theoretical and practical training on Yoga its importance
in day to day life and different methods cleansing, Pranayam , Dhayan etc
were discussed and practiced. Yoga experts specially invited for the purpose
gave detailed inputs on the subject. HIMALAYA WOOD BADGE COURSE
Himalaya Wood Badge Course for
Scout masters was organized at National Training Centre, Pachmarhi from27th
December 2011 to 3rd January 2012. 36 Scoutmasters from 8 states
participated. The course programme includes soft skills such as Human
Relations, Leadership Styles, practical pioneering, camping skills etc. The
course prepares a Unit Leader to train his scouts up to Rashtrapati Award
level as per the syllabus. |
