Sub: Thailand Rover Moot 2008.

 

Dear Sir/ Madam,

 

            We are happy to inform you that the National Scout Organization of Thailand is pleased to invite us to the 18th National Rover Moot in Thailand which will be held at Developments Center for Students and Personnels, Tanodluang, Cha-am district, Petchaburi Province, on the beautiful beach in the south of Thailand from 22nd to 26th October 2008.

 

Below are the basic information of the National Rover Moot.

Theme

:

“Rover Scouts help reduce Global Warming”.

 

Motto

:

“Save the Earth, Serve the World”.

 

Objectives

:

-         To provide Rover Scouts an opportunity to be close to the nature through camping.

-         To open the horizon, exchange ideas and cultures and promote world peace.

-         To create more sense of personal responsibility to reduce global warming.

-         To enhance Rover Scouts skills and intellectual abilities.

-         To promote Rover Scouting Nationally and Internationally.

-         To render service which is Rover Scout’s mission.

 

 

Eligibility

:

Rover Scouts who are registered members of their National Scout Organization.

 

Moot Fee

:

 The fee for Rover Scouts and leaders will be:

  1. US $ 100 per head.

This fee includes all meals in the camp site, camp accommodations, souvenirs and all activities during the events. Rovers have to bring their own sleeping gears.

Scholarship

:

 The Scholarship of US$ 100 will be available for Four Rovers and One Rover Leader selected by National Headquarters, New Delhi.

What to bring

:

Following materials is a must to be carried by each participants: two sets of correct and complete uniform as per APRO Part II , track suit, warm bedding, sleeping bag, ruck sack, sleeping mat, toilet requisites, torch, water bottle, rope, plate, mug, spoon, writing materials, first-aid kit, comfortable sports shoe, sweeter/jacket, lunch box, p-cap, rain gear & other necessary materials required for the Camping programme.

 

Travel Information

:

Camp site area on the Southern beach of Thailand in Petchaburi province is about 180 kilometers from Bangkok. It takes about two and a half hours from Suwannaphoom International airport traveling by car or by bus.

The charge will be US $ 10 per person.

 

Camping Equipments

:

Sleeping tents, fly sheets, bamboos, ropes, digging tools will be provided at the camp site.

Sleeping bag, uniform, casual wears, medicines to be brought by the participants.

Each contingent should bring Two National Flags, One for troop area, another one for main stage.

-   National costumes with about 10 minutes cultural show.

-   Materials for International Food Festival (Cooked food only).

 

You are requested to send the nomination of the eligible participants on the prescribed Application Form to the National Headquarters, Bharat Scouts & Guides, New Delhi latest by 30th  September 2008.
