Subject: - Asia Pacific Regional Summit at Philippines in November 2009.

 

Dear Sir/Madam,

 

            As per the invitation sent for the Asia Pacific Regional Summit November 2009. I am submitting the following details for your information.

 

            At the Regional Summit Member organization will have the opportunity to come together, share ideas.

 

Name of the Event

:

Asia Pacific Regional Summit

 

 

Venue & Dates

:

Philippines , November 2009 (Exact Location and Dates will be send in the 2nd Circular).

Purpose

:

  To calculate 100 years of Girls Guiding and Girls Scouting and 40 years of Asia Pacific Region. To renew the commitment to WAGGGS Mission, Strategic Direction and Global action Themes to achieve the vision 2011.  

 

What is expected

:

It is expected the Summit will :-

1.    Harness the best ideas across the region;

2.  Apply those ideas to issue relevant to the WAGGGS 6 Core     Areas of Work, and including the implementation of APOP, GAT etc;

3.       Provide an opportunity for looking back, facing realities of today and being prepared to look forward and consider changes that could be made while ensuring the fundamental values are retained.

4.        Provide a forum for open discussion and debate where there are no right or wrong answers and if appropriate produce some strategies for consideration of the MO and AP Committee and the World Bureau.

5.       Gather strategies and recommendations for the drafting of APOP 12-14 for the Regional Conference in 2010.

 

Concept

:

Four (4) Days Summit will culminate in a grand Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of AP Region. 

 

Target Group

:

Group 1:- Members of the MO who are experienced enough to bring suggestion to confront the issues WAGGGS facing.

 

      This will include those people responsible for programme, training, finances creating a wide range of participants and ideas etc. 

 

Group 2:- Girl Members, 15-18 years old specially those who have achieved high Awards in their MO (Not more than 2 Per MO).

 

Event Fee

:

The actual amount will be included in the 2nd Circular. At present an estimate of USD 400 per participant is fixed.

 

Travel Cost

:

All the traveling expenses will be born by the participants.

 

Caution Money

:

Rs. 3,000 paid to National Headquarters, New Delhi in the form of Demand Draft in favour of Director, Bharat Scouts & Guides payable at New Delhi.

 

 

Last Date

 

 

:

Last Date to receive application at NHQ :- 7th January 2009.

 

 

 

You are requested to send the nomination of the Eligible Participants to the National Headquarters, Bharat Scouts & Guides, New Delhi latest by 7th January 2009.
