Sub: Operation One World – 6th APR Scout Youth Forum.

 

Madam/ Sir,

 

            In continuation to our Circular No. 30/2009 dated 18.02.2009, inviting applications for participation in the 6th APR Scout Youth Forum at International Youth Centre (IYC), Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia from 22 – 25 October 2009, I am to State that the following nominations have been received so far:

  1. Kevin Vinod Chandra Pandey, Rover, Western Railway State.
  2. Kubbawala Mustafa Shabbir, Rover, Gujarat.

 

In this continuation, it is to inform you that the Asia Pacific Region has in order to encourage participation in the 6th APR Scout Conference, chosen India to select an additional participant to attend the above event who will receive grant under the ‘Operation One World’ Sponsorship for participating in the above event. The participants will have to stay in Malaysia from 21st October to 2nd November 2009. The candidate selected should meet the following Criteria:

 

  1. Either Male or Female scout who is aged between 18 – 26 years old (both between 26th October 1982 – 22nd October 1991).
  2. He or She should be some one who is definitely unable to afford to attend the event by his or her own means and is selected through fair and open process, with written application and after interview by a panel.
  3. Should not be a recipient of similar travel grant programme before.

 

PARTICIPANTS SHOULD POSSESS THE QUALITIES:

 

  1. Who can be able to actively participate in group discussion which will be carried out in English.
  2. Have some experience  in decision making at the institutional level within their Association and or at Regional level or Local Level.
  3. Some Knowledge of current issues under consideration  at Regional level of the World Organization  of the Scout Movement.
  4. Some experience in or knowledge of participation, development techniques of recommendations and decision making processes.
  5. Ability and some experience in representation of young people.
  6. Some experiences to contribute to the programme aspects of the APR Scout Youth Forum.

 

MATERIALS TO BE BROUGHT BY THE SELECTED PARTICIPANTS:

 

  1. Round trip Economy Class Airfare (from your nearest International Airport to Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia). This will be reimbursed upon arrival during the Youth Forum.
  2. Registration Fee and Accommodation for the Youth Forum and Conference. However, this sponsorship will not cover Food during the conference except where meals are provided by the Host Organizing Committee (i.e. welcome dinner, all lunches, coffee break and farewell dinner etc).

 

You are requested to send the nomination of the eligible participants on the prescribed Application Form to the National Headquarters, Bharat Scouts & Guides, New Delhi latest by 15th September 2009.
