Greetings from the Bharat Scouts & Guides, National Headquarters, New Delhi, INDIA.

 

We are glad to inform you that The Bharat Scouts & Guides is organising 16th National Jamboree at Shankarapally, Rangareddy District, Hyderabad , Andhra Pradesh, India from 6th to 12th November 2009.

 

This magnificent gala event will enable twenty thousand Scouts, Guides, Scouters and Guiders of the Country and abroad to march together for unity and solidarity and share their experiences with each other.

 

We extend a very warm invitation to you to join us for the event at Shankarapally, Rangareddy District, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and look forward to a sizeable participation from other member countries in Asia-Pacific Region and other parts of the World. The State of Andhra Pradesh is famous for its shrines, scenic beauty and tribal culture. We hope that your National Associations will form a contingent of minimum of One Patrol each in Scout and Guide Wing for the Jamboree.

 

Highlights about major activities along with other necessary basic information are given in enclosed sheet. We look forward to your confirmation about participation at an early date to enable us to make appropriate arrangements.

16TH  NATIONAL JAMBOREE

Shankarapally, Rangareddy District, Hyderabad ,

                   Andhra Pradesh, India

                      6th to 12th November 2009.

 

BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE GALA EVENT

 

Dates                          : 06- 12 November 2009

 

Venue                         : Shankarapally, Rangareddy District, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh,

                                      India.

 

Theme                         : Discipline Youth, Nation’s Pride.

 

Registration Fee        : US$100 per head will be the registration fees for participation in

                                       the  Jamboree, which includes tents, accommodation, food

                                       arrangement, transportation to and from Hyderabad Airport to

                                       the Jamboree site, and the Jamboree Souvenir.

 

              Registration Fee from participants from SAARC Countries will

              be US$ 75 per head, which covers tents, accommodation, food

              arrangements, transportation to and from Hyderabad              

              Airport/Railway Station to the Jamboree site, and the Jamboree

             Souvenir.

 

Eligibility                    : Groups of Scouts and Guides between the age of 14 and 17 years,

                                      led  by adult leaders in the ratio of 8 Scouts/Guides and one

                                      Leader. Maximum 32+4=36 Members will be accepted from each

                                      National  Scout Organisation.

 

How to Reach             :  Air: Hyderabad/Secunderabad is the nearest Airport well

                                         connected with New Delhi , Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.

 

              Train: Hyderabad/Secunderabad is the nearest Railway Station

              which is well conncected with New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and

              Chennai. Jamboree Authorities will make arrangements for

              transport to and fro Airport to Jamboree site. The Contingents

              may plan their Travel Plan and intimate to Bharat Scouts &

              Guides, National Headquarters, New Delhi accordingly.

 

Activities                    : The Programme of 16th National Jamboree is full of excitement,

                                      Fun, Adventure and Cultural activities. It is based on the needs

                                      and  aspirations of the young people. The Programme includes:-

1.      Integration Game

2.      Exhibition

3.      Youth Forum

4.      Road Cross Culture

5.      Grand Campfire/International Night

6.      Global Development Village/ Science City

7.      Hike

8.      Adventure, Fun & Intellectual Activities

9.      Food Plaza

10.  Opening and Closing Ceremony

 

Accommodation          : Accommodation for all the participants will be in tents. For this,

                                      the participants have to bring necessary things, such as Sleeping

                                      bag and other necessary belongings. Tents for group

                                      accommodation will be provided.

 

Food                            : Cooked meals will be provided to the Overseas participants.

 

Entry Visa                  : After getting the list of participants and Passport details, Bharat

                                      Scouts & Guides will send the formal Visa request letter to the

                                      concerned Embassies of India for issue of Visa.

 

Weather                      : The Weather at Hyderabad in November will be cool and

                                       pleasant. The temperature will be around 10 Degree Celsius at

                                       night and around 15 to 30 Degree Celsius at day time. Light

                                       warm clothing will be required at night.

 

Things to bring           : Participants are requested to bring Scout Uniform, NSO Flag,

                                      National Flag, a CD of National Anthem, Sleeping bags, Blanket,

                                      Personal requisites, shorts, personal medicine, torch or flash light,  

                                      light warm clothes and other necessary belongings.
