Sub: Postponement of XVI National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides,
from 06-12 November 2009.

Madam/ Sir,

Your attention is drawn to our letter dated 16.07.2009 inviting you to attend the XVI National Jamboree at Shankarapally, near Hyderabad in the State of Andhra Pradesh, India from 06-12 November 2009.

As you are aware that H1N1 Virus pandemic has spread globally and it has affected many States in India also. The Health Department of the Host State Govt. where Jamboree was to be held, apprehends that the Virus is likely to spread fast in the month of November due to low temperature. Therefore, it has been decided to postpone the Jamboree for some date in future, so that difficulties to young Scouts and Guides attending a big gathering like a Jamboree do not occur due to possibilities of catching the infection through some carrier. It is therefore informed that the proposed XVI National Jamboree has been postponed for the time being.
