We are happy to inform you that Asia Pacific WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) offered an opportunity to submit proposal for Project 3L (Life Long Learning). This project gives an excellent opportunity for young women to work on certain projectism in order to develop skills for their personal development. A grant is also available up to GBP 2,000 (Rs. 1,50,000/-) approximately.
Interested State Associations are requested to send the proposal to National Headquarters before 30th March 2012.
Guidelines of the Project alongwith the application form are enclosed for your ready reference.

GUIDELINES
FOR ASIA PACIFIC REGION PROJECT 3L
AP ACTION
Project
3L: Life-Long Learning
(Project
funded by the Friends of Asia Pacific WAGGGS)
BACKGROUND
Since 1999,
Friends of AP WAGGGS (FAPW) has gained enormous support from countries all over
the world. To date there are almost 1,400 members from 22 countries. The
Friends of AP WAGGGS work to raise funds for the development of Girl Guiding
and Girl Scouting in the Asia Pacific Region. It was felt that the money
collected from the membership fees should be utilized as grant for specific
project for Members Organizations.
The AP ACTION- PROJECT 3-L Life-Long Learning responds to the
needs of Member Organizations to provide opportunity for growth for young
women. It is envisaged that the AP
ACTION- PROJECT 3-L - Life-Long Learning will give young women skills to
use for their life; the skills, in the words of WAGGGS Training Guidelines.
may be life-skills, management skills and technical and technological skills
relevant for the personal development of young people so they will be better
equipped with abilities that are essential in coping with a changing world.
Management skills
may involve training to become entrepreneurs .This may include managing your
time effectively, various communication skills like writing, project planning
skills and of course, leadership skills. Technical and technological skills
involve the process of technique knowledge and proficiency and may include
dressmaking, culinary arts to computer programming knowledge and the use of the
internet. Life-Skills involve acquiring knowledge and to develop attitudes and
skills which support the adoption of healthy behaviours. This may include
skill-based education on HIV/Aids prevention, Human Rights, Peace Building and
Health Education, those skills that would help generate income to support not
only the young women themselves but also their families and their children.
The project may
be conducted at a National level and or the next tier of decision-making, such
as State, Region and province.
PROCEDURE
1.
Member Organizations may
submit one project proposal per year to the Asia Pacific Regional (APR)
Committee.
2.
APR Committee will
select not more than four projects each year from the proposals submitted by
Member Organizations.
3.
If a Member Organization
has already received a grant within the triennium, preference will be given to
a Member Organization that has not received a grant.
4.
Grant will be sent to
the selected Member Organization.
5.
Member Organizations
will submit a complete report with pictures prior to the participants after
Regional Committee meeting.
6.
Certificates of
participation from the Asia Pacific Region will be awarded to the participants
after completion of the project.
7.
Applications for the
project must be submitted by 30th April to Asia Pacific Region of
the preceding year. Only applications that meet the criteria will be
considered.
8.
Upon completion of the
project, Member Organizations must submit an article describing the project and
the outcome. The article will be edited and featured in the AP Link News and AP
website.

9.
The Asia Pacific
Regional Committee through the Regional Director will monitor the progress of projects
ensuring that funds are used as agreed by the Member Organization and the
Regional Committee.
10.
The Member Organizations
may be required to demonstrate their project at the Regional Conference.
CRITERIA
·
The project must
directly respond to the needs of young women in the country.
·
The project must
directly benefit young women.
·
The project must be
skills oriented relevant to the personal development of young women.
·
The project is open to
only young women members of the Members Organization.
·
Al least 30 young women
must participate in the project (aged from 18 to 30).
·
The project must be
completed in one year.
·
Reports of past projects
must be forthcoming
·
Each project will
receive funding only once.
·
Member Organizations
must ensure sustainability of the project after the grant period by including
in the report the next phase and how it will be funded.
FUNDING
·
The maximum amount of
grant per project is GBP 2,000 (maximum of four projects = GBP 8,000 per year).
·
Expenses over the amount
of the grant will be the responsibility of the Member Organization.
