SUB: Himalaya Trekking – Hemkunt/Valley Of Flowers (Uttaranchal)

 

Dear Sir/Madam,

Trekking in Himalaya will be held at Hemkunt/Valley of Flowers from 10th to 15th June 2006. Following are the details of the Trekking Programme.

VENUE

:

NORTHERN RAILWAY STATE BHARAT SCOUTS & GUIDES, STATE TRAINING CENTRE, RAIWALA, HARIDWAR.

 

HOW TO REACH

:

Participants should reach Raiwala Railway Station from there one can walk to State Training Centre Raiwala.

 

QUOTA ALLOTMENT

:

Scout Wing _______ Guide Wing _______ Total __________

 

ELIGIBILITY

:

Senior Scout/Guide, Rovers/Rangers between 18 to 25 years of age, completed Nipun Stage in Rovering/Rangering, having sound health and can walk and climb at least 15 kms. in a day in the mountain, can bear the strain of the Trekking can be selected according to quota allocation to the state.  Each candidate has to submit Physical Fitness Certificate from the appropriate authority.  Unfit candidates will be given to such candidates.  Young members of the registered Venture Club can also be deputed under the quota.  In that case, the list of the registered Venture Clubs may be sent to the National Headquarters.

 

RISK CERTIFICATE

:

Each candidate has to submit a Risk Certificate (enclosed) duly signed by the parents and attested by the District Commissioner

 

DEVELOPMENT FEE

:

Rs.50/- will have to be paid by the participant at the time of registration in the Base Camp

 

SPECIAL FEE

:

Rs.30/- per head to be paid

 

TRAVELLING EXPENDITURE

:

Actual Bus fare and 2nd Class concessional train fare on production of original bus tickets and photocopy of the train tickets will be reimbursed according to the quota allotment.

 

REPORTING DATE

:

9th June 2005 in the afternoon

 

RELIEVING DATE

:

15th June 2005 after lunch

 

MATERIAL

:

Following materials is must to carry by each participant: -

One set correct and complete uniform, Track suit, Sleeping bag, T-shirt, P-Cap, Sport shoes, Water bottle, Sleeping mat, Rucksack, Haversack, Torch, Rain coat, Plastic sheet 2 Mtr, Long nylon rope 5 Mtr, Knife, mug, plate, spoon, toilet requisites and first aid material.

 

LAST DATE OF RECEIVING APPLICATION

:

Will be on or before 31st May 2006 to reach the list of Participants to National Headquarters.
