The
World Association of Girl Guides And Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), the largest
voluntary organization for girls and young women in the world, develops
leadership skills, responsible citizenship and encourages services to local and
world communities.
Wagggs
is looking for a dynamic self started to join its Asia Pacific Team invited
application forms for the Development Executive in Asia Pacific Region WAGGGS.

Job Description
Reports to: Regional Director, Asia Pacific
Location: Home based
Salary and Contract: Competitive salary plus
benefits
Fixed Term contract for 3 years
Main Purpose: To support the promotion and
development of Girl
Guiding/Girl Scouting in organizations in the Asia Pacific, in accordance with
the Mission of WAGGGS. To assist in achieving the strategic objectives of the
Region as part of the Asia Pacific Team.
Tasks: Assist
in the formulation and implementation of strategic and operational plans for
the development of Girl Guiding/Scouting in the Asia Pacific.
Contribute
to, carry out and monitor as required visits in Member Organisations in Asia
Pacific, work with Committee members, members of the organisations and staff
during the visits.
Develop tools to assist the work of the Region; facilitate and
participate in the delivery of training to implement WAGGGS’ policies and
guidelines
Prepare
and monitor, within the planned time-scale, organisations who are working towards membership, associate membership and full membership.
Assist in planning for, and the implementation of, Regional
events.
Submit work plans and reports at regular intervals to the Regional
Director, Asia Pacific.
Assist
the Regional Director, Asia Pacific in work before, during and after the Asia
Pacific Committee meetings.
Assist
in servicing the Asia Pacific Committee/Planning Teams during meetings/events
as resource person.
Help
co-ordinate and brief Committee members and other volunteers for visits or
other related purposes.
Identify
NGOS with similar interest and key players in the Asia Pacific.
Undertake
other appropriate tasks or projects as required.

Person Specification
Knowledge: Sound
general education, degree level or equivalent qualification preferred.
Very
good working knowledge of English.
Knowledge of another language of the Asia Pacific region, highly
desirable.
Knowledge
of identifying needs of organization and
co-operation issues.
Skills: Excellent
interpersonal skills and team player, able to function independently without
direct supervision.
Demonstrable
organizational, project management and administrative skills, including
financial data.
Sound
research and analytical skills.
Excellent
Information Technology skills including MSOffice, PowerPoint, Excel, Word,
Outlook and Internet applications.
Ability
to communicate effectively at all levels through correspondence, report
writing, public presentations and discussions.
Excellent
time management skills, with the ability to manage a diverse workload, work
independently and to meet deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail.
Ability
to mentor, negotiate and problem solve with a wide range of people.
Personality
and skills to promote the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and
to present an accurate and dynamic image of the world organization.
Experience: Experience
of working in diverse cultural environment
and general knowledge of current affairs especially in the Asia Pacific,
and issues affecting girls and young women.
Experience in designing, implementing and
monitoring organisational governance.
Ability to use initiative and work under
pressure.
General: Willingness
and ability to travel extensively throughout the Region.
Knowledge of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts
(WAGGGS), its mission, aims and principles would be an added advantage.
