Dear Sir/ Madam,

 

            We are happy to inform you that the  Scout Association of Mongolia is Organization  and  is pleased to invite us to the 4th Mongolian National Jamboree will be held at The International Children’s Center of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia  from 03-08 August 2009.

 

Below are the basic information of the 4th Mongolian National Jamboree.

Eligibility

:

The Jamboree is open to both boy and girl guides who are at least 12 year old and Adult Leader s.

Highlight Programme

:

The Mongolian 4th Jamboree Program highlights are a chance to Mongolian and Overseas Participants to exchange their experiences and to let scouts learn about Mongolian culture and history. There will be various kinds of interesting activities organized every day.

You would like to participate in interesting and stimulating activities.

Mini-Naadam Festival

“International Day” Performance.

Global Development Village

Other Programme: Pioneering, Craft Workshops, Sightseeing, Disco, Art and Sports Activities, Hiking around Resort Area, Mountain Trail encircling Cultural and Traditional Information by each countries, exhibitions of main activities of Scouting, Orienteering etc.

International Service Team

:

The Jamboree will have a Total of over 100 Scout Leaders working on the International Service Team (IST). Interested and Qualified Scout Leaders are welcome to be part of the IST. A Registration Fee of US $ 160 shall be charged each member to cover the cost of meals, Souvenir items and other issuances, and transportation from the Airport to camp and back.

Free Hospitality

:

After and Before the Jamboree, Scouts from Overseas will be offered Home Hospitality for up to 2-3 days in the families of Mongolian Scouts. Exact dates can be arranged to suit travel arrangements.

:

The fee for participants is US$ 200, which covers food, souvenirs, inland transportation and insurance.

What to bring

:

Following materials is a must to be carried by each participants: two sets of correct and complete uniform as per APRO Part II , track suit, warm bedding, sleeping bag, ruck sack, sleeping mat, toilet requisites, torch, water bottle, rope, plate, mug, spoon, writing materials, first-aid kit, comfortable sports shoe, sweeter/jacket, lunch box, p-cap, rain gear & other necessary materials required for the Camping programme.

Usually personal kits including Tent, Sleeping bag, and rain wear, camping gear and eating utensils and other personal items are the responsibilities of each participants. Summer clothes is needed but due to the variability of the Weather you should bring some warm clothing as precaution.

 

Food

:

Food rations will be serving to each troop to cook. Meat is found in all Mongolian meals, usually with noodles, rice and soup. Please give intimation with the registration that contingent are vegetarians or have dietary requirement.

Supplies

:

The Scout Association of Mongolia will provide only kitchen tables, chairs and gas for cooking.

How to Reach

:

Reach Ulaanbaatar, there is a direct flight to Mongolia from Berlin (Germany), Moscow (Russia), Seoul (Korea), Osaka and Tokyo (Japan) and Beijing (China) and train are available from Moscow (Trans Siberian Train) and Beijing.

 

Weather

:

Mongolia is a land of temperature extremes. The Mongolian Capital of Ulaanbaatar has an annual average temperature – day and night, summer and winter of just -0.5 Degree Celcius (31 Degree Ferhenheit). The average annual temperature in Mongolia’s capital, Ulaanbaatar, ranges from-16 Degree Celcius (-2 Degree Ferhenheit) in February to a more comfortable 16 Degree Celcius (62 Degree Ferhenheit) in July. During the short spring transition in Ulaanbaatar, the average temperature climbs from 8 Degree Celcius (48 Degree Ferhenheit) in May to only 14 Degree Celcius (58 Degree Ferhenheit) in June. Summer fades quickly, and by September the annual average temperature drops to 8 Degree Celcius (48 Degree Ferhenheit).
