SPECIAL NATIONAL JAMBOREE 2007

Dear Sir/Madam,

 

 

We hope, you have started making preparations for active participation of your Country Contingent in the coming Special National Jamboree 2007 for centenary year of Scout Movement to be held at Rajarhat, Kolkata (2nd Kolkata township) (Near Bidhannagar), West Bengal.

 

In continuation to our Letter No. D-6-7/1968/06 dated : 22/08/2006 further details pertaining to the Jamboree are as follows:-

 

  

Dates:                                      2nd to 7th January 2007. (Date of reporting  1st January 2007)

 

Venue:                                     Rajarhat, Kolkata

                                                (Near Bidhannagar, Salt Lake City)

Kolkata, West Bengal,
India

Nearest Air Port:   Dum Dum Air Port, Kolkatta  5 K.M.

 

Registration Fee:                     US$ 100 per head which covers tents accommodation, food

arrangement, transportation to and fro Airport and the Jamboree souvenir.

 

Registration fee per participant from SAARC countries will be US$ 50, which covers tents accommodation, food arrangement, transportation to and fro Kolkota Railway Station and the Jamboree souvenir.

 

Eligibility:                                Scouts and Guides from the respective affiliated NSO’s between the age of 14 to 17 years.  All Scouts and Guides should be escorted by the Adult Leaders.

 

Programme of Activities:        The programme is action packed with excitement, fun and adventure activities. It is based on the fundamentals of scouting and guiding. It is in keeping with the needs and aspirations of the youth. It includes many new exciting activities besides Jamboree activities like, community singing, Regional Cultural, Village & State expositions, Religion Village, Pageant Shows, State Days, Rock Climbing, Trekking, Environmental activities, HAM Radio, HWB R-union, Trainers meet, Youth Forum, Integration Games, Handicrafts, Science city, Water Sports activities, Parasailing, Exhibitions etc. Arrangements are also made for tours to special place of interest. The Scouts/Guides and their leaders will get opportunity to interact and make friends at global level.

 

 

 

Weather:                                  The Weather in Kolkata is pleasant during January. The temprature is around 10’C in the night and warm in the day. Warm clothing will be required during the Jamboree.
