Sub: “What is great about Scouts?” Asia- Pacific Regional Youth Competition.

 

           

      The WOSM, AP Region is organizing a Youth Competition under priority area of Adolescents, which aims to continue sharing information among National Scout Organizations on how to attract more adolescents in Scouting.

 

The Details of Youth Competition is as  follows.

 

Name of Competition

:

What is great about Scouts?

An Asia- Pacific Regional Youth Competition.

 

Aim

:

To continue sharing information among National Scout Organizations on how to attract more adolescents in Scouting.

 

Purpose

:

The purpose of this Competition is to reaching out to young people and drawing ideas from them on how to attract more young people especially adolescents to Scouting.

 

Theme

:

“What is great about Scouts”

 

Criteria

:

The Content should be useful and answering the question “What is great about Scouts?” eventually to attracting more young people especially adolescents to Scouting. The presentation should be colourful, easy to understand, creative and eye- catching. The end product should manifest Scouting’s philosophy of involving, exciting and empowering.

 

Language

:

All entries must be in English.

 

Categories

:

There are four categories-

  • Media- A video or an Audio spot of not more than 30 seconds giving powerful messages on the theme. It can also be a Power Point of 20 slides or the presentation should not run more than 30 seconds.
  • Written- A written article of not more than 500 words.
  • Poster- should be presented on an A2 paper sized 420mm x 594mm (16.54 in x 23.39 in) with photos and short segments of powerful messages.
  • Blog- An initial blog of 50 words with an image.

Participation

:

Competition is open to all registered Scouts under 26 years old. Entries can be individual or group i.e. Scout Patrol, or a Rover Crew.

 

Prizes

:

A Certificate and a book prize would be awarded to the winner of the four categories above and to the best entry selected from all the categories. Winners will receive the following book prizes:

 

Media (Video/ Audio spot) -   USD 200.00 and a Certificate.

Written (Essay)-                      USD 200.00 and a Certificate.

Poster-                                     USD 200.00 and a Certificate.

Blog-                                       USD 200.00 and a Certificate.

Over all-                                  USD 200.00 and a Certificate.

 

Submitting Entires

 

All the entries should reach the National Headquarters in the form of CD. The original poster or the Written document can also be sent by post with the following information:
