SUB.:- 16TH NATIONAL JAMBOREE  OF BHARAT SCOUTS & GUIDES TO BE

            HELD AT SHANKARAPALLY, RANGAREDDY DISTRICT, HYDERABAD,

            ANDHRA PRADESH FROM 3RD TO 9TH JANUARY 2011.

 

 

Dear Sir/Madam,

                       

We hope, you have started making preparations for active participation  of your State Contingents in the forthcoming 16th National Jamboree to be held at Shankarapally, Rangareddy District, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh).

 

We are giving  detailed information pertaining to the Jamboree.

Dates

03-09 January 2011

Venue

Shankarapally, Rangareddy District, Hyderabad(Andhra Pradesh)

Theme

Disciplined Youth, Nation’s Pride

Eligibility

Group of Scouts & Guides between the age group of 14 and 17 years, led by Adult Leaders. (Every 9 Group of Scouts/Guides, one Leader will be entertained.)

Registration Fee

Rs.350/- per head for Scouts/Guides and Adult Leaders.

Development Fee

Rs.100/-  per head for Scouts/Guides

Rs.150/- per head for Adult Leaders.

Insurance  Fee

Rs.30/-  will be charged as Insurance Fee from each participant. (Scouts/Guides and Adult Leaders.).

Formation of Contingent

The State Contingent will be led by a Contingent Leader assisted by two Deputy Contingent Leaders, one for each  wing.

The Contingent will consist of

-         Contingent Leader (1)

-         Dy. Contingent Leader(2)

-         Troops/Company’s

     (9 Scouts/Guides +1 Adult Leader)

-         Quarter Master and others as per allotment.

How to participate

The State will send information of participation as per the quota allotted to them, stating composition of contingent as per proforma  attached.

What to bring

Contingent Kit:

  1. Two BS&G Flags (One for hoisting and another for Marchpast).
  2. Two Name Plate of State size 16” X 9”.
  3. Colour  Party Material.
  4. Equipment for activities to be demonstrated in Skill-O-Rama, Exhibition, Display, Pioneering Project, State Exposition, etc. with make up materials, costumes, Musical  Instruments for Folk Dances, Camp- fire etc.
  5. First Aid and Medicine Box.

 

Individual Kit:

Two sets of Scout/Guide Uniform, Sleeping Bag, Ruck-Sack, Torch, Water Bottle(Metal), Compass,  Note Book, Personal Requisites, Plate, Mug, Spoon and

other Equipment necessary for Jamboree.

 

Camp Kit:

Bucket, Utensils for cooking, Durries, Gadget materials, Camp Craft materials, Decoration material (Patrol and Troop wise).  

Activities

The Jamboree will be full of challenging activities with plenty of enjoyments for Scouts and Guides. The details will be given in Bulletin No.2.

Accommodation

One Tent will be provided for every 9 Scouts/Guides and one Leader.

 

Accommodation  will be provided in separate Sub Camps for Scouts and Guides.

Food Arrangements

Kitchen area will be provided for cooking for each State at a centrally located place near respective Sub Camp.

 

Facilities

Bank will function in the Jamboree Office Area. A well equipped hospital with qualified doctors and nurses and dispensary facility will be made available at the Jamboree site. Ambulance will also be available. Contingents are requested to come prepared with First Aid material to cater to the needs of the members of the Contingent for the journey period.

 

Grocery Items and provisions are available in the market area  at reasonable rates  on the Jamboree site.

Postal Arrangements

Sub- Post Office with additional facilities of  STD/ISD/PCO, Telegram, Cable will be set up in the Jamboree area, letter boxes in each  Sub Camp will be put up and it will be cleared at an appointed time. First Day covers with cancellation will be available on sale.

 

We assure about the adequate water supply and sanitation arrangements in the Jamboree.

Transport

Transport facilities will be made available from Railway Station Hyderabad/Secunderabad to Jamboree Sub Camp on payment.

Note:- This quota will not be increased further.  A State not utilizing full quota may please  intimate to the  National Headquarters so that this can be allotted to other  States.

 

16th National Jamboree scheduled to be held at Shankarapally, Rangareddy District, Hyderabad(Andhra Pradesh) will be a  Plastic free zone. You are requested to intimate the participants  not to use  plastic bags as the packing materials for the camp.

 

You are also requested to finalise the namelist of the contingents and send to the Host State along with Passport size colour photographs, so that they can prepare their Identity cards accordingly. The Identity Card of the participant will be provided at the time of registration and  the arrival of  the Contingent at Jamboree site.

 

More information pertaining to the programme, activities and physical arrangements will be communicated shortly in Bulletin No. 2.

 

Hope preparations for the Jamboree would be in full swing.
