Sub: Relief measures for the victims affected by floods in Orissa.

Sir/ Madam,

After the havoc caused by River Kosi in Bihar, a Natural Calamity of even bigger magnitude struck Orissa. The surging water of Mahanadi River and its branches forced their way into Deltic Region sweeping over 800 Villages with lacs of people marooned in Jagatsinghpura, Kendrapara, Cuttak and Puri District. There has been colossal loss of life and property in these districts. The relief operations are being carried out in full swing. The flood affected people need support of various kinds at this moment of misery and all of us should come forward to extend all possible help to these people affected by floods.

I therefore appeal to all the State Associations and through them to all the members of Bharat Scouts & Guides to liberally contribute towards the ‘Chief Minister Relief Fund, Orissa’ and also send your donations in the shape of cash or kind to the State Secretary, Orissa State Bharat Scouts & Guides. The Drafts and Cheques be drawn in favour of ‘Chief Minister Relief Fund, Orissa’ and sent to the State Secretary, Orissa State Association for further transfer to the Chief Minister Relief Fund.
