The Lakshmi Mazumdar Award is for :-
Outstanding
involvement in the Community-common for Scout & Guide
Wing . This can be
- A community Service or
Community Development Project organized by the Registered Units of the Bharat Scouts & Guides in the
locality.
-
A long term or a Short term Project
-
A small or a large Project
-
Within the Country
The Lakshmi Mazumdar Award is :-
The
Lakshmi Award to honour the memory of the Ex-National Commissioner Mrs. Lakshmi
Mazumdar and to keep alive her contribution to the Movement
and her belief in the spirit of Service.
Nomination for entries for the Lakshmi Mazumdar Award-

It
is now time to start preparing your nominations. There must be atleast one
company or Troop/Crew or team in every State which is carrying out a successful
need based Community Development or Community Service Project. This prestigious
National Award is meant to encourage and motivate Scouts & Guides to render
Yeoman Service to the development of community.
The
Lakshmi Mazumdar award must be a spontaneous and sustained effort with no
exceptions of recognition.
The Lakshmi Mazumdar Award will be awarded to:
Guide
Company and Ranger Team and Scout Troop and Rover Crew.
Presentation of Entry:-
Nomination may be made by the District Chief Commissioner through the
State Chief Commissioner without the knowledge of the Group and be sent to the
National Headquarters.
Nomination
may be made on the attached from (Appendix-2). If the Space is not sufficient
for the full description of the project, please give details on a separate
sheet, which may be attached to Appendix-2. Supporting recommendation from the
responsible persons both within and outside the Movement must be sent with the
entries. Only ONE entry from each section of both the wings separately i.e. Scout,
Guide and Rover, Ranger must reach National Headquarters before 31st
July every year.
Log Book :-
A
Log Book should be prepare in which all the work done in the community should
be mentioned in detail along with Photograph. It should be submitted to
National Headquarters by 30th Sept.
The Lakshmi Mazumdar Award will be Judged-
By
a Panel of 5 Judges appointed by the National Commissioner.
The Lakshmi Mazumdar Award will be in the form of:-
A
certificate will be presented to the each winning Group/Unit and a copy to be
presented to the State Association at the next National council Meeting for
retention in the SHQ.
Unit Leaders and
participants of the winning units will get the certificate signed by the
National Commissioner of the Association.
A certificate of recognition will be
awarded to each group entry for the Lakshmi Mazumdar Award in tribute to the
outstanding service rendered to the community by the Group.
Announcement
of the winner will be made in November each year and certificates will be
presented in the National Council Meeting.
