CLEAN UP THE WORLD CAMPAIGN 2008

Madam/Sir,

 

            The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) has engaged in an Allies Partnership for the 2008 campaign with ‘Clean up the World’ (CUW) to further enhance our commitment to environmental education and positive action for the environment.

 

            The partnership provides another tool to focus our efforts around the world in engaging in activities to clean up, fix up and conserve the local environment. We encourage all States to register as members to the ‘Clean Up the World Campaign’ and actively engage in these activities. These are primarily focused, but not limited to, the Clean Up the World weekend in the 3rd weekend of September.

 

            Both WOSM and Clean up the World (CUV) have partnership with the United National Environment Programme (UNEP) and see this as a further step in advancing the co-operative approach to caring for the environment.

             

            The Bharat Scouts and Guides, National Headquarters and State Associations engage themselves in activates relating to preservation and awareness of environment through out the year. Hence it should be convenient  to all the State Association, to take up the fresh projects on Environmental Education focusing their campaign/activities to Clean up, fix up and conserve local environment.
