Dear Sir / Madam,

Jamboree on The Air is an annual event in which 500,000 Scouts & Guides all over the World make contact with each other by means of Amateur Radio. It is a real Jamboree during which Scouting/Guiding experiences are exchanged and ideas are shared, thus contributing to the World Brotherhood of Scouting. Units may participate for 48 Hrs. or any part thereof from Saturday 00.00 hrs. until Sunday 24.00 hrs. local time. It is for the members of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and also for the members of the World Associations of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).

This year 49th J.O.T.A. will be held on 21st  & 22nd OCTOBER- 2006.

HOW TO ORGANISE JOTA ?

Try to contact local HAMS in your area and request them to arrange JOTA Station at a suitable place where Cubs/Bulbuls/Scouts/Guides/Rovers/Rangers can assemble to enjoy their contacts over HAM Radio with friends from the other states as well as other countries.

The HAM Operator should have a valid license and write to the ASSISTANT WIRELESS ADVISER for the permission to operate JOTA Station for the Scouts/Guides. In India only licensed HAMs can operate Amateur Radio. But during JOTA it is a special privilege of Scouts & Guides to talk on HAM Radio.

The application should be addressed to:
