Sub: Awareness Campaign reg. Maternal and Infant Mortality, welcoming girl Child etc.
Dear Sir/ Madam,
In a recent meeting between the Minister of State (Independent Charge) Youth Affairs and Sports and the Executive Director, Jansankhya Sthirata Kosh JSK (National Population Stabilization Fund), it was informed that several efforts have been made in sensitizing young people about responsible parenthood through youth network. Continuous efforts are necessary in this regard to build awareness about the issues related to Maternal and Infant mortality, Age limit for marriage of girls (not below 18 years), Birth of first Child after the mother is 21 years, welcoming the girl child into the family etc.
It has been requested by the Ministry that Bharat Scouts & Guides, which deals with a large number of youths and engage the youth in various activities related to Literacy and Advocacy Programme etc- may take up this important issue to reach the message to the rural areas.
JSK’s “Prerna” is an Organization, which is providing opportunity by announcing rewards for inspiring the public with financial benefit. They have also taken out a few pamplets for publicising their views.
It is requested that you may take such activities related to this awareness campaign. The Scout/Guide and Rover/Ranger’s participation in this regard will be encouraged under the kind guidance of your district and State Association.
A brief report of the steps undertaken by the youths along with a few photographs will be appreciated.
