Subject: Relief Measure for the victims of Bihar Flood Areas from Bharat Scouts

               and Guides.

Dear Madam/Sir,

As you are aware that the River Kosi breached its banks on the boarder with Nepal, flowing through a channel it had previously abandoned. The turbulent mass of water is finding its course to Ganga by inundating the villages and small hamlets on its way. Lacs of people are affected by this natural calamity, hundreds of people have died, thousands of cattle’s have perished, thousands of people are marooned and many have been rendered homeless.

As in the past, the Bharat Scouts and Guides always provides services during such, time of calamities, I appeal to all Scouts, Guides,  Rovers, Rangers, Unit Leaders and  all connected with Scouts Guides Movement to come forward and help in any manners they can to mitigate the miseries of flood affected people. They can help by providing services to the area and also shelter, food, medicine, cloths and monetary contributions.

As an immediate measure, the Scouts and Guides Units functioning in nearby towns and villages should come forward under their leaders to organize / assist relief camps in coordination with local administration and the local people for effective distribution of relief materials and support to the flood victims.

All the help and financial aids may be sent to the State Secretary Bihar State Association, Bharat Scouts and Guides, who will be coordinating the relief work for the flood affected areas, at the State Headquarters.

                        Thanking you,

Yours in Scouting,
