Dear Sir/Madam,

The 2nd October, the Birthday of Bapuji, the Father of Nation is observed as Anti Leprosy Day. You all know that The Bharat Scouts & Guides is having partnership programme with The Leprosy Mission Trust India from 2003 onwards. In the past years we conducted many programmes where the resource persons of TLM took session on leprosy awareness. They also distributed different kinds of literatures to all our Scouts & Guides.

Like in 2005, this year also a national level competition has been planned in partnership with TLM. The Bharat Scouts & Guides school students are suppose to depict like Gandhiji (with costumes) and make a speech (Hindi or English) on Leprosy in 5 minutes at all levels of competition. The final round of contest will be held in Delhi at Kamani Auditorium, Mandi House on Oct 2, 2006 at 10 am.

The contest will be as follows:

1.      The contest will be conducted first at the school level.

2.      Then the contest will be conducted at the district and state level.

3.      From each state the best Scout or Guide will be sent with his/her Scouter/Guider to Delhi to participate in the semifinal round on October 1, 2006 at 10 am.

4.      Five finalists selected through the semifinal will again perform on 2nd Oct 2006.

5.      There will be a Rolling Trophy for the first winning State. Besides these, all the five finalists will be given prizes. Consolation prizes will be given to the state representatives. Special prizes will be awarded to the escorts (Scouters/Guiders) of the first three winners.

6.      Each Scout/Guide selected from State along with Scouter/Guider will be given Second Class Train fare and Bus fare (all actuals with concession) from Home Town to Delhi and back by the TLM. Accommodation also will be given at Delhi for two days.
